ABOUT THE LADIES

Welcome to my website. For those of you who I have not had the opportunity to work with, here's a little bit about me. My name is Merrissa, but most people know me as The Portrait Lady. I have been in the photography business for nineteen years, ten of which have been here in Northern Virginia. I have had an avid interest in photography since I was a young child. I love my job and knowing that every session is going to be one of a kind keeps me inspired. Every person has a uniqueness, my favorite part of my job is finding that something special and capturing it. This always leaves the clients with a beautiful collection of portraits. I am so grateful to have a career doing what I love most. Having the opportunity to create friendships, watch families grow, and capture all the special moments through the years; from Senior Portraits to Wedding Day and New Beginnings, brings me great joy. I look forward to many more years working with each and every one of you.

Within the past couple of years, I have made some changes to the studio. I have partnered up with Mandy for most of my weddings. We have worked together for the majority of our weddings since 2009. She brings a fresh new perspective and I love it. She has been a photographer for five years, but has been in love with all aspects of it since she could walk, talk, and hold a camera. She loves to see how happy the clients get when they view their pictures for the first time. I feel very fortunate to have her with me so we can collaborate and work together. Denise is the backbone of the office, she holds it all together and keeps us organized. She started out as a wonderful client who was just looking for a little part-time position and has turned into my right hand gal. I don't know what we would do without her. I finally feel like my studio is complete.
